At Courtside Hoops, we believe that becoming a complete basketball player goes beyond shooting, ball handling and decision-making.
As athletes progress through representative basketball, physical development becomes just as important as skill development. Strength, speed, mobility and resilience all play a critical role in performance and injury prevention.
That's why we've partnered with Coast Sport, the Central Coast's leading allied health and sports performance provider, to deliver our High Performance Program.
Designed specifically for basketball athletes, this program combines expert Strength & Conditioning coaching with sports nutrition education to help players maximise their athletic potential.

Basketball is one of the most physically demanding sports.
Athletes are constantly required to:
Accelerate and change direction
Jump and land repeatedly
Absorb contact
Maintain speed and power throughout games
Recover quickly between training sessions
Our High Performance Program develops these qualities through basketball-specific training, helping athletes become stronger, faster and more resilient while reducing the risk of injury.

Each weekly session focuses on developing:
✔ Basketball-specific strength
✔ Speed and acceleration
✔ Agility and change of direction
✔ Power and vertical jump development
✔ Injury prevention
✔ Mobility and movement quality
✔ Recovery strategies

Sessions are delivered by Madeline Sheppard, an ASCA Level 2 Accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach, from Coast Sport.
Madi works closely with Courtside Hoops to ensure every session is designed specifically for developing basketball athletes.

Athletes enrolled in the High Performance Program have the option to add an exclusive Sports Nutrition Education Session delivered by Coast Sport's Accredited Sports Dietitian.
Topics include:
Fueling before training and games
Recovery nutrition
Hydration strategies
Healthy eating habits for growing athletes
Nutrition for long-term performance
Parents are encouraged to attend this session.

Invoices are issued directly by Coast Sport. Depending on your level of cover, athletes may be eligible to claim the Strength & Conditioning sessions through Private Health Insurance.
